“Unique…an imaginative
premise. Anyone who has ever wondered where authors get their ideas will get a
huge kick out of Dawn Calvert’s Hero Worship.”
–USA Today bestselling author Amanda Scott
It’s
probably the most common question writers are asked – “Where do you
get your ideas?”
Wish I knew.
It sometimes begins with voices. In my head. Talking in snippets and squeaks,
at first to me and then to each other. Or I hear about something on the news or
in conversations with my husband and two daughters and wonder, “hmmm…what
if..?”
Like the unseen author in the book “Hero Worship,” I both rejoice
and despair when characters take their own paths. The most enjoyable part of writing,
for me, comes when my fingers are tapping away at the keys and I say, “That’s
what happens? Really?”
I had a lot of fun working with the book’s premise, especially the idea
that characters I come to know so well and care about somehow continue on after
the book is done.
Hope you have as much fun reading the book as I had writing it!
